Tully

Next on my list of triple feature list is "Tully".  The movie reunites writer Diablo Cody and director Jason Reitman on their third  writer/director collaboration. The question that always comes to my mind is, does this compare to "Juno"?
Reitman teams up with Charlize Theron, who they previously worked on "young adult" together. Theron plays Marlo a mother of two, with a third on the way. The film shows how stressed and hard worked she is. Once the third child comes along, she reaches her tipping point. Her brother (Mark Duplass) suggests hiring a night nurse. In comes Tully ( Mackenzie Davis), to make things all better.
The first thing to praise about this film is the performance of Charlize Theron. She brings such a strength to the character, and when she is at her lowest you can really feel it.
Another thing to praise is the writing of the film, for the most part. This film does not hold back to show the real pains of being a mother and does not hold back. The big thing thing that I didn't like was the ending. The build up was great, but the end just felt like a bit of a let down.
In the end, its a movie with great performances performances and a great story. Not as a good as Juno, but a great return for Jason Reitman.
