Breaking In

When I had first heard of this film, to be honest, it was hard to get past when it said "From the producer of "No Good Deed."" It was just gunna be another entry in the pg-13 thrillers that goes no where. When I found out that it was directed by James McTeigue, who directed "V for Vendetta", so maybe it might be good?
Gabrielle Union stars as Shaun, a mom of two that goes to her deceased father's house to start the process of selling it, but oh, its also the same day that four criminals come to take four million dollars from the home. Oh, and the kids are taken, making it less about the money.
The biggest thing that was so terribly annoying about this movie was the multiple uses of the slow motion shots. In movies these shot don't work. When they are used, they are so terribly cheesy, it takes me out of the film.
Another big thing, for a thriller, there was a serious lack of suspense. This would be the case, because of the lack of development in a movie that is only 88 minutes long. It veers away from really getting to know why the four million was in the house, or maybe some development with the central family. The bad thing is, is its not just one thing, anyone of theses things would have helped this story.
In the end, while not the worst of the PG-13 thriller that we have seen like this over the years, but that does not say a whole lot.
GRADE:D
