Diary of a Teenage Girl

Going into this movie I really was not that sure what to expect.I had heard the word porno used to describe with the film and well there is a lot of sex. Having said that it is done in more of a tasteful way then say "Fifty Shades of Grey".    The story follows Minnie, ( Bell Powley), after she looses her virginity to her mother's boyfriend Monroe,( Alexander Skarsgard) . She was one that did not know how to handle this experience, and kind of looses herself in it. The movie is spent with Minnie trying to navigate that shake up.    Now I can see how this would not be everyone's cup of tea. This movie has good performances with a unique story line, it would honestly depend on a persons personal beliefs. War Room

I  always feel bad when I bash a christian movie but I know I have watched better. Most of the time when it comes to religious movies they always seem to jam one particular part of the christian lifestyle down the throat of the viewer. This time it is the power of prayer.      Liz (Priscilla Shirer) is a successful real estate agent  who would seem to have it all good job, family and a nice home but her marriage to Tony (T.C.Stallings) is in shambles for a variety of different reasons. They have a daughter Danielle (Alena Pitts) caught in the proverbial cross fire. Liz goes to sell the house of Miss Clara (Karen Ambercrombie). As Miss Clara shows Liz the house she gathers that Liz needs help. After first being reluctant she agrees to allow Miss Clara to teach her that her life can be fixed through the power of prayer.   At a running time of 2 hours I believe it could have easily cut about twenty minutes out of it. To me the Kendrick's are on the stronger side of religious

We are Your Friends

For my first review of this blog I looked at the Zac Efron DJ drama "We are Your Friends". Efron stars as Cole Carter a 23 year old that promotes parties with his group of friends played by Jonny Weston, Shiloh Fernandez, and Alex Shaffer. These guys are all ambitious to making there lives better, just not in the college way.  So, at a party Cole meets a veteran DJ James played by Wes Bently and his assistant Sophie ( Emily Ratajkowski) who have the ability to make his dreams a reality.         Overall this movie has its moments where it hits growing up or as they say a coming of age. The big thing was watching this movie, I was able to predict nearly the whole movie. I found it having a lot of been there done that moments. Overall it was disappointing, not horrible. GRADE: C-
