Westworld Season 2 Episode 8

   This episode pauses our main conflict story with Delores, William, and company to give us the back story to the Ghost Nation tribe. Specifically, taking the  lead for  the tribe is Akecheta (Zahn McClarnon). This story goes to the beginning of Westworld when it was not open, and the Native Americans, had a good and easy life. When the park was opened, Akecheta, had his mind wiped and he was turned "savage". On an off trip back to the tribe he once knew, he ran into a previous love, and instantly remembered everything of his previous life. During the cover of night, he kidnaps her to try to escape the world and be free, but she is captured by park security. Over the next several years, he searches desperately for her, with no luck. He figures that if he cant find her in life, perhaps death is the best option?
   I can not sing  high praises enough for the performance that Zahn McClarnon turned in for this episode. I first knew of him from the A and E/ Netflix show "Longmire".  Not to sound like a jerk, but I did not expect the caliber performance we received. McClarnon has really amped up his game since the "Longmire" days.   
   The story took a massive switch, when it came to hosts becoming self aware. From the beginning of the show, we are lead to Believe that Dolores was the first one to become "aware". This episode proves that there have been hosts, since the beginning, that have known, what was going on from the start. You may ask, why didn't Ghost Nation lead the rebellion? Thanks to a flashback, we find out the earlier hosts, were not made as aggressive as the newer models, and did not ultimately have the free will they did. I do enjoy a good twist, one where it could drastically change the show if they would like, but if not, its a solid storyline. 
   This is one of , if not the best episode of this show, looking back, I honestly really tried to look for a flaw to tell you all about, but I could not.

    I would be the first to admit, when the original "Unfriended" dropped in 2014, I was not expecting to enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. I always thought though, there is no need to make a sequel. Alas.. we fast forward to 2018, and there is a sequel.     The story revolves around Matias, who finds a great laptop, in his local internet cafe's lost and found. Since it has been there for weeks, he takes it. Later that night, while playing a game night over Skype, he begins to discover some terrible things.    One of the problems that plagued both of the films was the acting. In most of these cases, the actors from these films, do not have a lot of experience. It unfortunately, caries over to this film.      When it comes to cop films, for the most part, I tend to be a huge fan. When this came out, I was not very sure what to expect from it because there was such little press for it.     A professional group of thieves lead by Michael Atwood (Chiwetel Ejiofor) does the biding of Irina Vlaslov ( Kate Winslet). The guys want out of her buiding, but her being a big player in the Russian mafia, she gets what she wants. She drags the crew into a final heist with a huge payoff, what could possibly go wrong?        The biggest thing that hurt this film was the scope was so huge for this film with how many characters it has. It is hard to care or, for that matter get to know any Of the characters when the time spent with them is so short. On top of that, this film does not go in any new directions for the crime thrillers. I feel like if they may have added twenty to thirty minutes to get to know all the characters it may have added an edge it doesn't quite have. GRADE:C
