Truth Seekers Season 1

Truth Seekers: inside the new The X-Files-like Amazon Prime Video TV show | TechRadar

Photo belongs to Sony television and Amazon Studios. From when I was a young teenager, until well, now I have always  looked at the team of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as comedy gold. "Shaun of the Dead", "Hot Fuzz" and "At World's End" are pure gold, even the less enjoyed "Paul" are great. When I heard they had teamed up to create a new show, I was pumped.

The story revolves around a team of part-time paranormal investigators that use homemade gizmos to track the supernatural. They share their adventures with a small YouTube. The scares start out small but get more more terrifying they begin to uncover something bigger than they imagined.

My absolute favorite part of this show is Malcolm McDowell. He plays the father- in law of Nick Frost's character Gus. His I am an old man, I get to say what I want works. The unfortunate thing about that is neither Frost or Pegg are very funny.

So is this a scary show? Welllll no... When I say that it started out really slow, that couldn't be more accurate. As one makes their way through the show it does get a tiny bit better. When the overall plan is revealed, I was left more confused than anything.

With a paranormal show, how do these paranormal creatures look? Well, a lot of them looked like the ghosts of the horror film "1408". For those that don't know, the ghosts of 1408, look kind of like they were part of an old film. "Truth Seekers" gives this more of a digital look instead of the old film look and does not look as good. Also, there is no context as to why they look that way.

I really hope that this is some season one jitters and they can turn it around for season two.
