The Haunting of Hill House

It has been a while since I have taken a crack at television. I have at this point seen the entire season, so I will be taking a look back.
The series follows a family who, grew lived in what would  become the most famous haunted house in the country. As adults, they must go back to Hill house to confront the past.
The story of this series was based loosely on the 1959 novel of the same name. Before this series, it was adapted twice into film, both called "The Haunting". I do love that creator, Mike Flanagan took it in his own direction. As, I have said countless times, movies, or horror shows that focus all on making you scared, do not work. You need to create a good story, the horror will come. This is very much what this show accomplished. I was impressed with the angle it took to explain the horror. By the end, it is up to the viewer to decide what was real.
I loved the designs of the monsters through out the series. Not to give anything away, but  there are two I really love, the bent neck  lady, and the human Slenderman. I wont give away who they are, or why they are there. All I will say is they are two you should look out for.
To be able to bring such a human story to life, you need a great cast. I am happy, that through out the show, the acting is top notch from everyone. The one that stands out though is Carla Gugino. She is crazy good as the mother, that may or may not be crazy.
In the end, this is one of the best shows I have seen in a very long time. It is worth watch.
