Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer

This movie has a subject matter that has been a hot button issue for ever, abortions. These days people look at films like these and try to look for a political motivation. Like I have stated here in the past that will not be discussed. We will be looking just at the quality of the film.
The film tells the story of Kermit Gosnell, a doctor that over thirty years, performed an unkown amount of illegal abortions in the state of Pennsylvania. This is the story of his takedown.
As a whole, I feel the story barely glossed the surface. I will not take this as my own idea, but I saw a Forbes review of this film that called this "an extended "law and order" episode. I agree with this, the show barely glosses on it's case to usually deliver a less than compelling story. This film could have been so much more, if it took a deeper dive. There is a compelling story here.
When it comes to the acting of this film, it can be summed up in one word, flat. Some just seemed to be bored to be there. Might be that they were there just for a paycheck, cough, Dean Cain.
In the end there is just so much potential in this story, it falls short in just about every which way it can. Kinda feels like a Lifetime movie.
GRADE: D
