Bunker

This was a rather tough one to wrap my head around, mostly because of a bad theatrical experience.

This is a simple story. A group of soldiers get trapped in a bunker where sinister forces maybe lurking.

This was something that relies on relationships of the people stuck in the bunker. I do think that that most of them not knowing each other and being on opposite sides, made the stakes of this film pointless. This is another review that I have given thought to. This is an ending that needs to be spoiled. When the angel of war comes, it does not feel earned. Adding a monster to the end of this when the majority of the film was about a group of people enclosed together didn't feel necessary. By the end you have the angel, and it just doesn't feel like it works.

On the technical side, this is a very cheap movie, and it shows. Watching this right after "All Quiet on the Western Front", makes judging the technical side difficult. Even when they were outside the bunker, it was not an immersive experience it felt like they could not afford their vision. In the end it feels more frustrating than anything else. I will say, out of all the negativity, the Angel of War does look great. He does look like he came out of a Guillermo Del Torro film,

I think the fact that I fundamentally, disagree with just about everything, it leaves it more like a chore and less scary.
