Smallfoot

When it comes to Sony animation, I always tend to be very hesitant because the overall quality is not really there. So does this streak continue?
Migo (Channing Tatum)is a  Yeti whose world gets changes when he discovers  a human. He gets banishment from his home when the rest of the villagers refuse to believe him. He sets out to prove them wrong.
When it came to the story, I was overall pretty happy with it. The message of the film was surprisingly powerful, in a great way. It does take a bit to get there, just because the script was not quite there in being well rounded. This is not to say there isn't a lot of fun and great songs. Characters just did not seem as developed as it could.
One thing I can say, as a whole, when it comes to Sony's animation style, I'm not a fan. This continues to this film. It was really tough to think about how to explain this, but here it goes. I don't like that if you looked at "Smallfoot" and "Hotel Transylvania" the animation style is exactly the same. Lots of people would think I'm being tough, but you can honestly see similarities in the yeti and Drac. I also do not like that the animation feels too cartoonish. With the way technology has advanced, cough, Pixar, it could look better.
In the end, this is a step in the right direction, but there is more work to be done.
