Little Stranger
When heading into "Room" back in 2015, I did not know what to expect. Along with many others, I was thoroughly impressed with what I saw. When I found out that "Room" director, Lenny Abrahamson was coming out with a new movie, I was hooked.
In the summer of 1948, Dr. Faraday (Domhnall Gleeson) is called to Hundred's hall. The home belongs to the Ayer's family for the last 200 years. Faraday, as a child, had taken a liking to the house. When the chance to come back to the house to treat Roderick (Will Poulter), he jumps at it. As the treatment goes on, his life becomes very intertwined with the families.
The big thing that I liked about this film was the sets and costumes. It made me feel like I was in the 1940's. Personally, I love anything that can take me back in time.
This film is able to nail gothic horror very well. Having said that, this is a very slow movie. If you are coming for thrills, this is not where you should go.
In the end not really what I was expecting but, you could do worse.
