Westworld Season 2

I am trying something that I would not expect to I will be reviewing a tv show every late Sunday to Monday. If you couldn't guess by the title or the picture i'll be taking a crack at "Westworld" So, why go after such a difficult show to take on? I always like making things difficult. As per usual I will keep this as spoiler free as I can.

The premiere picks up roughly two weeks after the killer party finale. Bernard ( Jeff Wright) wakes up on the beach to be in the company of humans attempting to retake the park. After this there was a time jump to the night of the party and followed Bernard and a group of survivors trying to escape the park.

One thing that interests me about this season is it seems to be following what the character Robert Ford said about the humans but is now the reverse, " People stay here to find out because they want a glimpse of what they could be, the hero or the villain." This is especially prevalent with the character of Dolores ( Evan Rachel Wood). She thinks the way to make things right and take her life back is to murder every human she comes across as she crosses the park.

With this premiere What I was most fascinated was Bernard's struggle to find his place between the human and the hosts, especially since the uprising. It will be interesting to see where he ends up by the season finale.

One of the things that I am not sure that I am totally on board with yet is the need for the time jump in this season. Personally, the last seasons time jump to tell the backstory of the man in black (Ed Harris), was overly long and drawn out, but we will see.

Overall, I was pretty happy with what I watched and am looking forward to whats coming. There is a lot of potential in this show, hopefully it all works out.
    GRADE: B+
