The witch

Robert Eggers brought The Witch to the Sundance film festival to raving reviews and awards. The production company had planned a limited release and a video on demand. When it completed its run, A24 decided that going with a wide release would be best for it.
The Witch is based on a New England folk tale. Thomaisn (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her family move to the country side after being bullied by the settlements mayor. When they get settled the baby brother dissapears without any sort of explanation. Things just get worse from there.
This movie does not follow any of the normal horror rules. People that expect jump scares will be dissapointed. The movie is creepy in every sense that it could. It does have a very Sundance film festival feel which puts it on another level. It in fact delivers .
