Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Theives

I had huge reservations about this film, before I saw any of the actual footage. For any of you that say well that's not fair to do that to a film. Do yourself a favor and watch the 2000 film of the same name. I'll wait...... You're welcome!!

The story revolves around a thief (Chris Pine) as he embarks on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic with his friends. Things get a little crazy, when they run into the wrong crowd.

The film comes from the minds of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daily. These are the guys behind " Game Night".  They were also the writers behind "Spiderman: Homecoming" and "Horrible Bosses". The dialogue of the films makes them a joy to watch. The streak continues here, the dialogue is so entertaining and fun to listen to. There are a lot of laugh out loud moments throughout this film. The best part is, this can be a lot of fun for people that have never played the game, like me.

The cast needs to be shouted out too. For the witty dialogue of Jonathan Goldstein, and John Francis Daily to work, you need a great cast. Lead by Chris Pine, we get wildly wacky performances from everyone tat sells this movie in every way it should.

What goes wrong, is more on the technical side. The editing felt a little awry. There were many scenes through the film that felt disjointed, could be felt during the fight scenes specifically. The CGI was also something that left, well something to be desired. It felt like I was watching "Antman" again. There were solid ideas that just did not get enough time or manpower to be polished correctly.

Despite some technical flaws, it is highly entertaining film!
