Joy

When it comes to Jenifer Lawrence and David O Russel many think of greatness like American Hustle and Silver Linings playbook. Coming into it, knowing it was not shown very much previous to the critic screening, did not get my hopes up for this.
From the beginning, the story was nearly spelling out that Joy was meant for great things, but life seemed to get in the way. All things started to change when she cleans up red wine off the floor of her father's girlfriend's yacht floor. A mop that rings out itself. She gets her family to help get the mop business started. The movie goes through the lows and the highs of this endeavor.
Most of this movie seems so much like a movie we see every other week. So the question is, what is made up in this film what seems so familiar or is the true parts just so formulated these days? I'm honestly not sure what the answer is.
Finally, it was hard to like the film when most of the characters are so unlikeable that it took me out of the story.
